Guys - I LOVE the Ergo! It is so wonderful! Ash has been riding in it most of today, and I walked a really long walk yesterday and had Lulu in it on my back for the last 1.5 miles. She did really really well and my back didn't even hurt! So, Arwen, Kiki, Krista and Korin, thank you for suggesting it! Best $92 I ever spent. I am selling our barely-used Bjorn on Ebay, because if we ever have another baby we can just get the infant insert for the Ergo. I LOVE IT! I wanted to post some pictures yesterday but I couldn't find my camera.
I am getting better at just telling people how I feel - in general, letting people know where I stand. I don't know why I didn't do this a long time ago, because it is really freeing not to be so caught up in what other people think of you, etc. You know?
Lucy is SO funny. Oh my goodness I just love that girl to pieces! This morning I walked into her room right before I took my shower and she said, "I love your boobies, Mama!" I thought I was going to pee my pants (well, I didn't have any on). It was so funny. Oh Lucy, you just light up my days with your funny ways!
Asher is getting ready to crawl. I love love love this age. I get to meet my anonymous internet friend for the first time tomorrow - she's coming over for lunch. Should be fun.
I've started the Core Weight Watchers diet (have been following it since Sunday) and I am amazed at how good I feel, already. It is really balanced and still allows whole grain pasta, fruits, stuff that South Beach doesn't allow. I think without those things I would go nuts. And this seems healthier, too. I am wanting to lose 10 - then I would be right where I was when we got married, and I feel good at that weight. I was thinking today that I need to be happy with my body how it is NOW, not 10 pounds from now, etc. I'm big-boned (according to my husband) so I will never be a stick. I'm ok with that. Anyway, I decided I really like my lips and my eyes - and I have cute little ears. I like my hair color, too, and what else...hmmm... one guy in a store in Cali thought I was Brooke Shields. She is impossibly skinny. How is she so skinny? I have always been told that I look like her. I will take that. Today I was watching Oprah and they were saying we shouldn't want to lose weight because it looks good but because it's healthier. That is so true and so easy to forget. Anyway, lips - Scott has the biggest lips of anyone I have ever seen - they are very nice. So mix our genes together and Asher's lips are out of control. What are your favorite things about yourself? It seems in our society we are always harping on our bodies. Let's start doing the opposite! So, tell me - what do you like about your physical appearance? No voiding it with something you DON'T like, either! (We women are wont to do that.) Brag on yourself. Do it. It's fun. If you don't want to, leave your name and I will brag on you FOR you.
We have Bible study tomorrow night and I am excited about that. Hopefully the two ladies I invited will come!
Can you tell it was a good day today? We're still waiting to hear from Cincy. A step at a time, or else I'd crap my pants.
Gotta go spend some time with the hubster before he serves me papers for having an affair with my Dell. 'Night!
I've been looking at the Ergo, but alas, I do not have $92 right now. :-)
I love that perspective on our bodies. Oprah's comment about how she wasted most of he 30s worrying about and being self conscious of her weight is what kicked me in the pants to get going on my weight loss. I don't want to waste any time I could be spending with my girls obsessing about how I look.
Hmmmm. What I like about myself....
I love the color of my eyes. I have these steel blue eyes that look awesome when I wear black or blue. I like that I am athletic. I know it will be easier when I drop some more weight, but even carrying extra weight, I'm able to bike, swim, run, etc.
Thanks for the reminder of a good perspective!

I really like the bright BLUE color of my eyes. I also enjoy the very blonde color of my hair (I've had so many stylists tell me they wish they could bottle my color and sell it so they could be rich). I'm pretty happy with my body, actually, but very excited to get a new one someday when I get to heaven. I would like the new body to have a slightly smaller butt and hip width, but I have a feeling that I probably won't really care because I will be with GOD and that probably will just be about all that matters. It's still kinda cool to think about - when this body quits working, I get a new one!

"I am getting better at just telling people how I feel"
Go you! I often find that difficult as well and have to make an effort to do that.
Rach, you look great on all the photos you've shared. You smiliness combined with the things I've read from you make me wish I could come and hang out because I know we'd have fun and feel completely at ease.
Those are things your weight won't change.
I have a pretty decent built as well. Built to last. I won't ever be Hollywood skinny, at least not healthily, but my body is right the way it should be and that makes me happy. I think I got that build from my mum, she's even sturdier. My dad is very bendy and quite thin, which I'm not really. More than my mum, though. Perfect combination, as always. My eyes are not blue like my mum's, but not quite as dark brown as my dad's, my nose isn't as large as my mum's (and that of many people from that side of the family) but it's not as round as my dad's.
I also really like the shape of my face and the way my hair is.

So glad you like the Ergo! It didn't occur to me before that you can carry Lucy in it as well - isn't that cool?
Let's see... I have good eyes; I really like their blue color. My legs (and arms) are long - it can be a pain buying clothes, but I don't think I ever look stumpy. I have nice long fingers too. And I have good skin, which hardly ever breaks out. And my teeth are naturally really straight. I like my teeth a lot. Also my toes, which are long but very even and in good proportion to one another.
You're right, it is really hard to do this without going into the list of the numerous things I don't like! But I'm glad you're making me stop here.
P.S. You better not start voting Democrat. (grin)

I like the color of my hair. It's got lots of pretty natural highlights in it. I went red in college for a while (I'm sure you remember) but I don't think I'd ever do that again because I like the color it is naturally.
I also think I have a pretty nice rack.

very exciting that lucy likes your boobs and asher's about to crawl. that stage is excruciating and awesome. just move the legs now...come on...and plop.
i like my face. i like the way God combined everything on it. my lips go well with my nose, which goes well with my eyes, which are centered nicely and go well with my forehead. my forehead's not too short, not too long. on my finer days, i look in the mirror and say, "you're a pretty lady, alisa." on the not-so-fine days, i say, "whoa. you sure were more pretty yesterday...or the day you got married when you were all dolled up and some pound lighter." like all of us, i strive for the good days.

Rach... you are AWESOME at saying what you think. I know we are recent friends and this may be a big change for you...but you are SO good at it. And it's good for the soul.
You are really beautiful! Anyone who thinks otherwise must have had their eyes poked out some time ago by evil little trolls and have been bitter and vengeful ever since. Just my opinion...
I have a loooong list of the things I wish I could change (even with a little diagram in my mind where the plastic surgeon has circled areas in bright red marker). BUT, since we're listing the good things...uh, I ROCK! I, too, joined Weight Watchers about a year and a half ago and did the Core program. It's awesome and I lost 40 pounds by my birthday last summer (and kept it off ever since!). So, I like that I finally got to buy my first pair of 6 pants in at least 10 years.
I like that I have always had very tiny, delicate wrists, even though slightly marred by the bit of pencil lead stuck in there since I was jabbed in the 8th grade bu Jay Tendick. Fun times. I love the color of my eyes, but have trouble when filling out a form. I never know whether to say Blue or Green. They're more of a bluish sage color. I think they're cool. I have pretty hands and nice lips.
Most importantly, I have open arms for anyone who needs them. :o)
SMILE!
(See you at life group!)

I too am glad you love the Ergo! And I also didn't think about carrying Lucy in it, bonus!
Some days, I like everything about me and some days, I don't like much. I just try to remember the goo

I have been reading your blog for a while after Allison got me started. I love hearing your thoughts on parenting and everyday life!
I too have been on Weight Watcher's for a couple of months. We pretty much took July off because of the trips to TN and Iowa. However, I love the way eating healthy makes me feel. I am doing the points, but am intrigued by this idea of the Core plan. I guess I really don't understand it, so I hesitate to change from the points.
The physical thing I like most about myself is my hair, but I am working on finding more:)
I am off to go look up this Ergo thing:)

Wow, after that review I just might remove the Baby Bjorn from my registry list! LOL. :-)
Hmm...what do I like about myself? I like my green/hazel eyes and big smile. And I like that I am naturally slim (for now!). And at the moment, I am sporting a GREAT summer tan!

I love the idea of only saying positive things about ourselves! I love my eyes and the front of my legs... my big mouth (the PHYSICAL one - ha!) and my curves. :o)
Thanks for doing this! I'm going to have a great day!
